Officials

Competitions are the culmination of the hard work, dedication, and preparation of coaches and athletes. But behind the scenes, it takes a skilled and dedicated team of officials and judges to ensure that events are conducted fairly and professionally.

World Aquatics is the international federation that sets the rules and guidelines for Artistic Swimming competitions worldwide. In New Zealand, we have a pool of World Aquatics-qualified Judges and Technical Controllers who oversee competitions at all levels, as well as a large group of wonderful New Zealand trained officials.

We are committed to the ongoing development and education of our Judges, Technical Controllers, and Officials. Through regular Judges Clinics and training, we aim to equip our officials with the tools and knowledge to support the sport at both national and international levels.

In recent years, the role of Technical Controllers has been introduced to ensure the smooth execution of competitions. Technical Controllers are responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of a competition, ensuring that the event is conducted according to the rules and regulations set by World Aquatics.

Whether you’re an experienced Judge, a new official, or interested in becoming a Technical Controller, there are training and support opportunities available for anyone interested in these roles.
